driver window slows down/ stops
My drivers side electric window goes down fine until it gets to about 4 -6 inches from being all the way down then it slows down to a creep or stops. I have to hit the button several times to get it to go all the way down or push down on it with my hand to assist. It goes up fine wherever it is at.
Any Ideas on what it could be? I haven't taken off the door panel yet Is there a trick or anything i should watch out for when taking the door panel off? Thanks |

Pop the power window switch panel off....just pull straight up. Disconnect the wiring from the switch panel.Locate the screw revealed after you pop the panel off and remove it. Next, pop the courtesty lamp lens off with a screw driver. Locate the screw revealed after the lens is removed and remove it. Now take the whole panel and lift straight up. As the panel comes free, be careful to remove the light bulb (1/4 turn CCW) that resides in the courtesy lamp location. Finally, remove the panel completely. Now you have access to the window tracks. Spray with some silicone lubricant and you should be good to go.

x2 on the spray. I use the silicone spray for electrical components. You can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot in the electrical dept. Roll the window down and spray inside the track on both forward and rear pieces of window lacing (the felt looking stuff). Run the window up and down a few times and repeat if needed. It works for me every time. |
