Disappointing ET's
Well, took my truck out tonight, and with the mods in my sig.
My best was 16.92 @ 78 in the 1/4... Now, the truck was pretty heavy. I didn't unload the toolbox or run it down to 1/4 tank or anything. So, right about 8300 pounds tonight... I only got three runs, and I was tryin to figure my boost launches out. Usually anything over 3 pounds and I spin, but the last, and fastest, run tonight was with 5 pounds of boost. It was really hot today so I think it was alot stickier than normal. Also, I couldn't get the 4wd to lock in. I've been havin trouble with the plug under the crossmember, and didn't feel like crawlin under it tonight. I was gonna see how it did with about 10 pounds or so in 4 before I discovered it wasn't lockin in. That calculates out to about 280hp at the wheels. I was hopin with the money I got into this thing that I'd be around 300-320 but I guess I'll have to wait for injectors, new turbo, and live tuning before I hit that. So, what're you guys gettin? What do y'all have done that's gettin you over 300? Over 400? |

Forgot to mention my EGT's were close to 1400 every run as well.
Looks like I need to go ahead and replace my IC boots and look for other leaks. |

It would be alot faster in 4x4 boosting up to about 15-20. That would make your 60' times way better and a better 1/4 mile, which would make your hp calculation better and maybe around 300.

What were the 60' times? 1/8 mile?

your low numbers are due to the bad starts, 4x4 boosted launch is what will help you the most

yeah a 4x4 boosted launch will help tremendously. my truck is capable of 12's if i could only do a boosted launch. i ran 13.5 taking off normal.

Dunno what my 60' times where. The 1/8th was 10.76
![]() Yeah, it wasn't goin in though. I just replaced a wheel bearing and I'm not sure about the auto lock hubs after seeing that assembly. Probably gonna switch 'em out to a manual lock, just to get that outa the equation. The clip on my plug to the transfercase broke, so we got a spot of glue on it. I don't know it that was why it wasn't goin in either. I was gettin the light, but no 4wd. Which tells me the transcase worked... But, I wasn't really in a position to tear into it last night. |

anytime you are doing a boosted launch ALWAYS lock the hubs in (even on auto hubs) the shock of them locking in on a boosted launch will tear them up
