3208 Cat engine
Will a 3208 Cat fit under the hood of a 2002 F-250. I found one for a pretty good price. I just wonder how much work it would be to fit it under the hood.

IIRC there is a guy around my area that had one in a 90's chevy. I would think if it fit there it would fit ours.

Well the other question would be what trans do I need, what t-case because I am keeping the 4wheel drive. Even if I have to run a divorced set up my wheel base is long enough to do so.

I believe it will. I have always wanted to do a Cat into Ford swap and I think that is a combo that will fit. Dont take my word for it but im pretty dang sure.

I know you can fit a 6V92 in a Superduty. A 3208 is a big *** engine. Are planning on running a turbo?

![]() ![]() Not enough people have done this to really know all the tricks. Thats the problem I always come up with when doing the swap in my head, what tranny and what 4x4 components? It would be ALOT easier to do a 2wd, but seriously who wants a 2wd truck ![]()

Also that Cat weighs like 2000 pounds or so...

I wanna do a 3116 swap. They dont have the greatest reputation but I think it would be great in a ford pickup.

You will probably need a body lift to clear it. You can throw an MT653 Allison automatic behind it and I would definitely go with a divorced t-case!

I did some googling. I found a couple trucks that have the 3208 under the hood. One was a 79 ford. So that tells me if I clean out the engine compartment it would fit. But I just have to find out what other components I would need to do the swap. |
