Straight Pipe, foil delete? Those would be easy, with no real money lost.

One of the turbo pipes from the intercooler to the turbo ( driver side) has a heavy foil wrap with some heat shielding. Removal of that metallic wrap is the foil delete. Personally i think all it does is make the truck louder and there is absolutely no performance out of it. besides its supposed to keep the intake charge cool. Anyone do a pyro test to see if inlet temp went up after doing the foil delete.
My buddy did it to his dads truck over the weekend. Didnt get any faster but you can hear the turbo more. Other than that IMO the most worthless 2 hours spent with him doing it. At least we drank some good beer. |

Diesel Movies - I install a 10k resistor in the ICP sensor of a 2001 F250 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel.
Here's the link to the video on how to do it...its a cool, very cheap mod that does give noticable throttle response and power...more is felt with other resistors such as 5.6k and 3.3K |

Open up that air box with a diy tymar style filter. Probably wont feel any more power but it will breathe better
As far as the "rubber hose" it goes to the wastegate. This is what I think you are referring to and it does not give you any extra power. A buddy of mine dynoed his truck with it on and off and no gains were recorded. Last edited by southern7.3; 06-10-2009 at 05:42 AM. |
