more boost equal more power?
okay does more boost equal more power such as unplugging the red line on the waste gate or getting an aftermarket waste gate with my waste gate plugged in i get about 27 wide open with it unplugged i get 32 and my buddy has an upgraded waste gate he gets 32psi but he just exploded his turbo he cant figure out how he makes more boost yet my truck is faster he also has a dptuner. is have more boost adding power or is it just something to brag about

More boost means more heat... with the little .84 housing on your truck the back pressure goes thru the roof with the wastegate locked down.

|
Boost doesn't necesarily mean more power... it just means more pressure at the gauge or sensor location. If that pressure isn't getting to the cylinders, or you don't have enough fuel to use the extra oxygen, it means nothing.

Air without the fuel to match is just burning yer trucks aBLEEPss whereas fuel without the air to match is just smoking yer trucks aBLEEPss and burning the cash to balance the two correctly burns the wifes aBLEEPss.

thanks guys ill show my buddy this he thinks the more boost he gets the more power his truck makes yet hes exploded 2 stock turbos in 2 months but he doesnt want to listen to me

Your buddy is over spinning his charger. With the gate unhooked and not diverting excess gas through the gate the drive pressure goes way up and spins the charger a lot faster than it was meant to go. It does create more boost but its not really usable since the turbo is way out of it's efficient range. 30+ psi on a stock 7.3L charger is a quick way to kill it.
