Garrett Turbos??

This is probably a dumb question but was playin around under the hood yesterday and noticed that my turbo had Garrett stamped on the side of it. My question is....Does the E99 F-350 come stock with this brand or is it something that has been upgraded??

The reason i ask is because as of now i am 21 yrs old and my family bought the truck brand new in 98 and then in 2002 the truck was in a head on collision and the motor and everything was replaced. With only being 14 at that time i would have had no idea or concern about what turbo was on it prior to that incident.

I thought the same thing back in the day. Nope they come with a garrett turbo...

they all came with garrett turbo's..the early 99 turbo has 4 bolts holding the compressor housing on..the 99.5-03 trucks have 5 bolts holding it on..witch do you have?? maybe you got lucky and your early 99 has already been up dated..
