help me mod up my early 99

Hey guys I'm new to this diesel thing and i am learning a lot being on the org. I have a early 99 7.3L and want to get some good power out of it. It has 131000 miles. Right now I have a bad injector causing a my truck to shutter when underload at 1500 rpm or lower. Truck runs fine down the highway. On road that are 50mph I gotta turn overdrive off to keep the rpms up and keep it from shuttering.

Anyways I need new injectors and there are sooo many places I have found that make them. I have read that my truck has split shot injectors? Is the early 99 the only one with split shot? I want to get a stage 2 injector. But do I want single shot or split shot? I plan on getting a tw chip also. I already have a straight pipe and intake. I know if I get stage 2 single shot ill have to get a custom tw chip for the singleshots. what do guys think I should do?

Have you check or tested anything to indicate you have an injector issue? A "shudder" does not mean injector issue... Most PSD injectors will last 200k or better.

If you do go injectors single shot is the only way to go. You do not want a modded split shot.

Ya I'm gunna have it tested very soon. Within the next two weeks. What else would cause this shutter probem? Tranny seems fine.

I have seen the torque converters do the same type of shudder. Have it scanned before you do anything. If you check out my sig, mine is an early model. I got all my stuff through Beans Diesel, they really helped me out.

well i have been reading alot of stuff about different shutter problems and i came up with it eaither being the injectors, uvc harness or TC. i hear the 99 have had a problem with the tc shutter and flex plate or something.

also another problem is when my truck is cold and when i start it in the morning i get a crazy idle like its got a high performacen cam. when i start it i usally just put slight pressue on the throttle and the erotic idle goes away.
