how to tell the difference between 1999 and a 1999.5/
i am going to buy new parts for this truck i bought used, but i dont know how to tell the difference between a truck made in 1999 and a truck made in 1999.5. please can someone help me out!

I was told that on a early 99 the powerstroke emblem was on the fender, and on the late it is on the door. Also the turbo is different, smaller i think. If you look inside the drivers door you will see the build date, that is the best way to find out. I think your safe in asuming anything built before 01/99 is early, but I'm not sure the exact cut off. Mine is a 05/99 build and is a late model.
