Surge

Someone please describe to me what surging is. I know the WW gets rid of it but describe the symptoms to me. Thanks

Im not exactly sure the exact science of what causes it to surge, i just know that it does it under load, and sounds like a rapid "ch ch ch ch ch ch" and can be potentially very damaging to the turbo.

Hmm, I've heard that before I put the TW in.

Ok, That description is different than what I thought it was. In daily I get an RPM and seat of the pants surge at light throttle.

OK the WW does not get rid of it usually. It does help some peoples issues though. The only way to eliminate it 100% is to get the ATS housing.

Surge is damaging to the turbo. It is basically unused or un-needed air escaping back out through the intake. It does sound like a ch-ch-ch-ch sound when you are still on the accelerator. The whooshing sound you hear after letting off of the accelerator is not surge. That is normal.
