SCT Xcalibrator Programmer

Sorry to keep askin all the question, but I'm new to the powerstroke world. I just bought my first powerstroke today and I have alot of questions. Has anyone ran the SCT Xcalibrator programmer on a 7.3L diesel and if so will it give you much power and produce black smoke, because I want my truck to smoke alot? Thanks

You want your truck to smoke go get yourself a DP tuner....that will do it no problem. I would think the SCT would give the 7.3 some good power, I guess it really shines with the 6.0. Don't forget intake, exhaust and gauges to go with the tuner. Don't worry about the questions: "One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever." Have a good one

You can accomplish the same end results with the Xcal2 as you can with a 6 position chip. The 6 position chips have been around for a long time. That is why you see most 7.3l running a chip. I know that Elite Diesel makes some very good power for the 7.3l on the Xcal2. The TS 6 position chip is very good also, and very affordable if you call a dealer like us. What you really need to decide is what options are important to you? If you go with an Xcal2 like the Elite Diesel custom, you will always have the Xcal2 which can hold custom tunes for anything, mustang, 6.oL, F150, whatever SCT supports. That is one of the upsides of the Xcal2. The big upside to a 6 position chip is that you can change settings on the fly! That is a great option, and you can remove it very quikly. Keep reading, lots of good info on this site, or give us or other site supporters a call.
