got some chips, what do they do and how well do the do it??

Hey Guys,
New to the diesel world, like brand new, just bought the truck today, the guy said it has the quadzilla stacked on a hypertech.. Now the truck will ****'n'get purdy good as it is, but i was wondering if there is better out there with more performance and reliablilty?? any suggestions are much appreciated..

stacking chips is old school...you havnt felt power till you get custom tunes....not only better power but much safer with lower EGTS and better MPG...congrats on the new truck..

Stacking chips does nothing on our trucks. It's been proven many times. Get a custom tuned chip like the ones suggested above and you will be amazed.

Congrats on the new truck.

Ebay all the crap you have on there. And get some custom tunes. There are a few companies that most will rec amend.

TW or Tony Wildman @ total diesel performance.

DP tuner

PHP Power Hungry performance.

I you do not already have Gages get them ASAP. You will need Trans temp, EGT, and Boost.

Do you're self a favorer and don't ask which is better. They are all great tuners. Each company has a different way of doing things. You need to go to there web sites or contact them and find whats best for you.

X2 what he said. I was in the same boat as you, I went with DP and love it. Way more power than stacking crap on crap.

FYI i have been told by several mechanics that the hypertech will encode its software into your ecm hard drive and wont come out unless you have to ecm flashed... i could be wrong but flashing doesnt cost anything and takes about 5 mins at the ford house. i just heard this so who knows how valid it is. if it is true anything u pu t on top of it may be altered. good luck!
