oh wow. you are TOTALLY right. I can totally see how what I wrote was misinterpreted.
VEry sorry bout that.

I meant to say that at 180k, on a stock tranny, your TRANSMISSION is about due to be replaced.

Your engine is good for a long time yet, and i wouldn't be afraid to perk it up more becuase of hte miles.

OTOH, given what you ahve done so far ot the engine, 2k isn't going to do a whole lot more performance then you have. You have done all the easy stuff, and after this, it gets really expensive. I am at teh same stage, and looking for easy cheap stuff.

sorry about that........

first of all...to quote myself...i said "while he is probably due for a trans....".....i never said you were wrong there...but your post made it sound like a 180,000 mile motor was beyond doing anything with....and as far as your sarcastic post...i was not arguing with you....i was giving my opinion to the guy which seemed to conflict with what you had said...i was not trying to pick at your or make you sound like your not clear answer was not right or wront.......so i dont really appreciate the sarcasm........Marc

there was no sarcasm in my post.

i wrote something. it said a something other then what I MEANT.

your post was absolutely, positively, right on. My post, as I INTENDED, was also true IMO, but could be interepreted differently then I meant.

Again, sorry for the confusion.

email and forums sometimes really suck cuz you can easily say what u didn't mean.

so, let me try to restate it. do we agree on teh following?

180k doesn't matter for adding more performance mods to the engine
180k and the engine will still go a long time in all probabaility
180k, and you might consider saving money for the tranny, cuz ti is gonna be due someday
given what he has done so far, 2k isn't going to get a lot more cheap horsepower

regards,
doug
