Superchips 1805 programmer

I have a handle on this used programmer CHEAP but have a few questions before I leap:

1. Is it easy enough to tell if it is VIN locked?
2. Can I upgrade the software via the Superchips site even though I am not the original or registered owner?
3. I presume it works with a 6spd?

Worst case is if I am unhappy with it, I can unload for more than I paid and step up to a DP or TW.

heres some answers that might help.....

you will tell as soon as you plug it in if it is vin locked, which i believe it should be.

yes you can update it on there website, they have a link that you can change everything on it.

and it will ask you what kind of transmission you have when you are doing the programming.
