When I bought my truck it had a "custom" intake on it, the guy before me ripped out the stock airbox and put a filter from an international tractor on it, I have the edge juice and a ball bearing turbo among other things and it works fine. I couldnt tell you what the number on the filter is but I know that napa sells them and they fit perfect in the place of the stock airbox

PowerStroker99,

AFE Stage II is the best and it replaces all of the early 99 trucks intake system etc. We currently have an extended sale on them too standard and PG7 both!!

I heard K&Ns filter aren't the best choice for a diesel, but then it sometimes depends on where you live and how much crap there is in the air where you live and how much your filter is exposed to it.

I'm going with one of AFEs proguard 7s, the extra filter material is a little piece of mind if you want to think of that way.

thats doesnt matter, the particles that get through the prefilter are will go right through it too, the pre filter keps out the "big" stuff from clogging the regular filter
