Should I t-off the MAP line or drill and tap? Not a big fan of pipe tap at all especaly in an aluminum turbo housing. Any drawbacks to t-ing off the Map line?

if you are a little scared of tapping the aluminum the map line would be your best bet. i have mine that way. but i have heard you get a inaccurate reading. just get as close as you can to the y-pipe. its quick and simple on the map. and plus you don't have to worry about taking off y-pipe. hope this helps.

You have another choice. You can buy a bolt that will fit in the place of the AIH. Drill and tap that bolt so it will accept a boost fitting. If you want more info on this, pm me.

I like the MAP line idea, several vendors offer a "tee" that in the middle has a bleeder so the motor never defuels but still gets maximum boost to whatever your mods are making, plus 1/8 NPT ports to screw in your gauge's hose.

I don't see how it could be less accurate than AIH delete boost fitting, or tapping in anywhere else where you would get boost, it'll read 10PSI all over regardless of where you tap in unless you have a leak somewhere.

Teeing into the map line is very easy, and inexpensive. It's also just as accurate as anywhere else. Adding a pressure regulator inline here will also help avoid the SES light due to overboost.
