WHAT THE?!?!?! 40+psi outta a stock turbo?

Ok guys I need some help here I am on facebook(yeah the slightly less creepy myspace) and there are 3 or 4 people who are claiming 40+psi of boost out of a stock 7.3 turbo. I was under the impression that the stock turbo did not want to play after 30-35psi. Also the highest recommended boost on a GTP38R is 40 psi. I just want to know if what they are saying is possible?

Yeah I don't know if they have a ported housing, wheel upgrade or at least a new wastegate setting. I mean 40 or so psi and you should be thinking of headstuds right?

It all depends on what other mods they have done, 40 psi is quite doable with a stock turbo, got to have the wastegate wired shut so it won't blow open, when I still had the stock turbo on with the big hybrids, I had a Banks Bighead actuator on and had the rod all the way in and the wastegate would still blow open at around 38 or so.

That said, the turbo at that psi is WAY out of its map range and doing no good at all, but generating heat.

House used to spin his up there quite regularly when he was pulling with his.
