Garrett turbo

I just recently purchased my 02 PSD and while rooting around under the hood I noticed that I have a Garrett turbo . Did Garrett produce a factory turbo for the PSD, or are they only aftermarket? I had some turbo mods in mind for a stock turbo, but if it is an aftermarket....

yes, Garrett did make the stock turbo. to be certain it's "the" stock turbo, it will have a 3" intake. if it has a 4" intake, then it's an aftermarket Garrett Turbo. best mod for the stock turbo in my humble opinion, is an ATS Ported Housing. it has a 4" intake. if you like A LOT of whistle, add a Wicked Wheel or Superior Wheel. if not, keep the stock intake wheel. I've heard gutting or disconnecting the exhaust back pressure valve is also a good thing. you can also fool the wastegate to get a bit more boost. Welcome fellow oil burner! you've got a great rig there.
