opinion on exhaust

I recently heard a Dodge with an after market exhaust on it and hated the sound coming from that thing. It sounded like the Cummins was farting all the way down the road! I'm looking for a good solid exhaust for my 7.3 that will hold up and has a good note to it. I heard the Corsa is good without the in cab drone. Anyone have one or can you recommend one that is quiet till you lay into it.. I respect your opinions. Thanks

I have to agree with stump on the MBRP. Im betting the Dodge you heard was straight piped which means no muffler or cat. Ive heard a dodge with straight pipes and i know the sound you mean. But a powerstroke sounds better than a dodge in my opinion.

Any exhaust you get will sound better than the dodge since the Cummins has 6 cylinders and our trucks have 8 cylinders. I got mine from here 4.

i would definatly go with a full 4inch system for mileage and performance. i would also look at the Aero Turbine muffler. they are great and you can get them in a resonated version which keeps the "drone" sound out while mantaiing a good healthy sound

Yeah, Cummins exhaust notes just don't sound right sometimes...eh well. Yeah we have ANSA silverline duals on our truck and it sounds great under hard acceleration and nice but not overpowering at idle. ANSA single 4" pipes are fairly economical, from what I have heard from people that are much smarter than I is that you can not go wrong with either MBRP or ANSA....

A good system with a free flow muffler will certainly get the job done.

If you get a turbo back with a straight thru muffler it will do the job you're looking for. I'm not really sure what the sound of a Cummins has to do with the sound of your PSD though. Funny comment on the 8 cylinders sounding better than 6. No comparison....if the Cummins was a v6 I could understand, but it's not. Has anyone heard a straight piped big rig lately? The PSD engine sounds like a diesel, but the exhaust note is not like a Cummins exhaust note which sounds a heck of a lot closer to a diesel big rig than any of the V8 diesels.

Thanks for the comments guys! I'll check out your choices. The reason I bought up the Cummins is that it and another Cummins I saw a while back are the only diesels I've seen with after market exhausts and really wasn't sure if the sound would be the same on a PSD. Also was hoping that maybe different exhausts sounded different. I just didn't like that sound that I heard on the Cummins and wanted some opinions from y'all!
