Yes you can take it off anytime. you can also set it up with a toggle switch to turn it off or on.
Take a 10K resistor from radio shack. Take the top off the ICP sensor, place the ends in the "BLUE/GREEN" wire plug and the "RED/GRAY" wire plug. Don't put it in the other hole, don't touch resistor ends, and situate it so that you can put the icp clip back on. It will idle like crap, but it will smoke.

Recommend gauges, but I haven't been able to get close to 1200* since I installed mine but then again I have intake and exhaust. Mine only smokes at full throttle or when down shifting from OD to 3rd gear.

So the only benefit is smoke? Or is there a power benefit in there somewhere?

im bought a toggle today im gonna hook it up tomororw morning, and do a little bit of a nicer job than whats on it now. I got more low end power and the turbo kicks in a lot sooner than it did before, it idles like crap though adn the gas pedal is real touchy and shakes the truck if i barely touch it, and it makes it buck someitmes, but im sure its not like that wit hthe auto's, i gave a litle while acura a dark side if you catch my drift, she smokes like a mother. and my wastegate keeps barkin when i get the RPM's up... so im gonna put a switch in just for occasions, ill take pictures and if i figure out how to post them i will

i dont think the 18k makes much of a difference, the lower the # resister the more fuel it pushes(i think) but the lower you go the more dangerous it is, i have a 3.9k in mine right now and its got more balls but it idles like garbage and i dont like it
