First thing you need to do is find out whether or not you have forged rods. If you do have forged, you will need to get an open intake, 4 inch exhaust, set of 230ish cc hybrid injectors, custom tuned chip, wicked wheel or ATS housing for the turbo, make sure you have a regulator in front of the map sensor, and you will be at least that. If you have pmr's get a set of stage II injectors, wicked wheel, custom tuned chip to keep it at 400 or you will likely install windows 07 in your block. Guages are a given of course. |

Sure does, if your build date is prevoius to 10/00 then there is a good chance you have forged rods. There are also scant cases that I've seen where a build date of 08/00 had PMR's, while a truck with a build date of 01/01 had forged rods. I'd rather be safe then sorry and get that checked before you cross the 400hp mark. Sure, there are guys out there pushing 450hp/1000+tq on pmr's but do you want to be left with a $10,000 bill if one of them installs windows on your block?! If I was a bettin' man, I'd say he has PMR's though... |

You're a bit overweight at 30,000lbs if you have an F2 or 350. Definately not trying to discourage you, but if you install rods, you need to do a bit more. I suggest some more research and hopefully you either plan on paying someone to do this or you have opened up a few motors before. If you're going to do all this and put rods in you should look at more hp then 450 - maybe 550, 600 to make it worth the money you're about to dump into that engine.
