PCS controller?

I guess a PCS controller is the only way you can have full manual control of the 4r100. Has anyone used this controller? How hard is it to hook up and do you have to have a laptop to tune the transmission, also how does the manual mode work does it have buttons or do you have to rig up your own switches?
