2000 7.3 power?

sorry guys if this has been gone over dont spend much time in the 7.3 section and did a quick search that didnt really give me any could info. But picking up a 2000 7.3 with a tranny gtp38r not sure if it has injectors or hpop but had a edje with hot unlock thats no longer on the truck. buddy owned it and used it for his business lawncare rocks etc.. that stuff and one of his younger workers plowed with it on the hot setting and fried the convertor last winter just rebuilt the tranny on it was wondering with c. tunes (tw,dp not really sure who else are big 7.3 tuners) on her what would be needed to make like 400 450rwhp on these old girls. THx for any info

with a 38r already, just custom tunes and stage2's or hybrids... and a built trans not just rebuilt...of course 4in exh and cold air, and guages, and trans cooler, and a healthy fuel system (like either RR or FRX with a siffer spring)

oh and fyi 450 is getting close to the upper end of the PMR's if your has them

You'll need injectors to get anywhere over 320 horse.

The current fad for best chip is the PHP Hydra. There is tons of info out there on it.

If it's a 2000 it should have forged rods, so no worries there

Unless the motor has been replaced.
Pull the plug and take a look at the rods.

It may be quick but 320 is about all you can get with just a tune, and that's if everything else is in pretty good shape. Maybe the 6.0 was having some problems???

Or maybe it already has injectors.
You're not making more than that on stock injectors.
And you're not running single shot injectors with an edge tuner
Is there a chip in the PCM at all?

Yes TW is still making great tunes for the 7.3 as well as the 6.0
Pick up a used TS chip from someone who switched to the Hydra and send it over to him.
