From all of the reading I have done, I have come to the conclusion that you need to put it where ever makes u most comfortable and know what the limitations are (max temp) according to where you have the probe placed. I need to install one in my truck and am probally going to put mine after the turbo as well. I have a few friends who have PSD's and thats where they have theres and none of them have had any problems. Just remember that max temp is about 400-600 degrees lower than if placed in the manifold. Everyone has their own opinon, and thats just my 2 cent worth.

Mine is after-turbo and I'm fine with it. As my dad, retired after 50+ years as a diesel mechanic, pointed out, most all the engines he worked on had pyros post-turbo. Also, if you go pre-turbo, you only pick up on bank of cylinders, so if you have a bum injector on the other side, you'll never know by the pyro.

Okay even if you put a pyro in one bank and not the other, or if you put it behind the turbo, by the time the exhaust from all they cylinders goes through the turbo it'll be all mixed up and combined so you're still not going to know which bank it is! If it's a newer electronic motor you should get an SES light tripped alerting you of it anyway.

the pyro is to make sure you dont burn anything up. As long as you understand the max temp according to where its placed you'll be ok. I am a diesel truck mechanic and almost every truck ive worked on has the pryo probe located after turbo from the factory. If it was really that "bad" of a plce to put it I dont think the manufactureer would put it there.
