Looking for some tuner guidance for diesel rookie

I am new to the diesels and tuners for that matter so I am looking for some guidance. I know there is probably 100 different opinions and yes I have tried the search function and google and now I am more confused than ever

Truck is a 00 CC dually 4x4 4:10 gears auto tragic tranny 4" turbo back pipe gauges tranny, exh and boost soon to have an AIS. I think all I need is a good tow tune for say 10000lbs an economy tune and maybe a mild performance tune (400,000 miles on the truck so define tally nothing wild)

Let me know guys what I should be saving up to buy.

Hydra is the best thing right now.

It's being sold by most dealers for $375, it comes with access to all of PHP's tunes.

You can also buy it from say, Tony Wildman ( Total Diesel Performance) and it's $425 with Tony's tune's...and still access to PHP's.

A TS chip with 6 tunes costs $425 as well but its got huge drawbacks.

TS needs to be sent back if you want the tunes updated, Hydra doesn't even need to be removed from the truck.

TS only holds 6 tunes.... Hydra holds 17

Really the biggest reason to go Hydra is you can get tunes updated if you ever need much much easier and faster

Thanks for the info guys looks like I am saving up for a hydra.

In the mean time I was offered a DP tuner F5 tuner/chip for $100 is it worth it to pick up and try/play around with this for a while while I save up for the hydra or is best to not even bother with it ?

If any of you guys sell or know a good place to get the hydra for a good price feel free to PM me.

Thanks again
