thinking about a gtp38r and trans upgrade

i just picked up a late model 99 7.3 the truck has a 4"lift on 35's and it already has a stage 2 afe intake 4"turbo back exhaust and a edge juice programmer with a stock trans...i was wanting to throw a gtp38r turbo and was wondering how much hp thatd throw me at and was thinking about getting rid of the juice programmer and getting a edge cts programmer.. also what should i do for the trans? im pretty sure as soon as the turbo gets slapped on the trans will go fast.. should i just upgrade the internals or just buy a different trans?

Get rid of the pos tunes... Thats your first step. You can use the cts to monitor but the tunes will come from elsewhere. Search on the forum, there's plenty of threads about tunes. Then look into trans, injectors, and turbo

With the turbo alone, the stock tranny will be fine. You need to get rid of the Edge tunes and run custom tunes on a chip. Those Edge tunes are more damaging to your tranny than the turbo will be. I run a 6.0 tranny cooler and valve body in my stock tranny with clean fluid and it handles my 38r/ 175/80 injector set up just fine.

Yes, I'm still running the stock converter. I run DP Tuner tunes on their F6 chip. I will soon be running Dyno Proven tunes as well since they tune the F6. If I had a Hydra I'd run Gearhead tunes as well.

PSD tell us more about your 6.0 tranny cooler and valve body?
Is it a 31 row? What's the difference in the 6.0 valve body?
