Was about to pull the trigger on 6 position chip but...

Well I was pretty set on going with a PHP Phoenix 6 position chip...I had PHP tunes on my F150 and loved them...and for what you were getting with the Phoenix the price was right....but now its unavailable on their site and seemingly replaced by the Hydra...which is over $100 more. I realize the perks of the Hydra....but Im not sure I need to take advantage of its perks. I want my truck to be a strong running reliable driver. I am doing a muffler delete and just keeping the stock 3.5" non catted exhaust as I don't see a need to pay for a complete aftermarket exhaust when I can get a lot of bang for my buck doing a muffler delete. I also did a 6637 intake from Riffraff. So, as you can see, there is a bit of a theme here...Bang for my buck, good results mods. SO, should I fork out the extra $100+ for the Hydra or would I be satisfied with an off the shelf TS 6 position as an alternative?
There aren't any Phoenix 6 pos chip options lingering around at other vendors...are there?

Fork out the cash. That way if you decide you want to try other tunes (and if youre anything like me you will. I had two chips for my old 7.3 and have 20 plus custom tunes for my 6.0

I did pull up one of their pages in a search of phoenix 6 pos chip. I may have to give them a call to see if they can set me up with a phoenix chip...or at least a TS with PHP tuning...if they have PHP tunes they can download. Thanks for the input guys. Keep it coming! I just have a hard time dropping the cash for the off chance I will want to try different tunes down the road. I don't even daily drive the truck. I probably drive it 1-3 times a week. If I get a good power tune that runs/shifts well along with a good tow tune for tugging the 7,000 lb toyhauler a few times a year I'll be happy.

We do a lot of work with Kenny down at KT performance. Good guy.

When you purchase a TS chip 6 - position, he does have the ability to tune the chip to use our files.

Even though the hydra is sooooo much better

Thanks for the input everyone. If I can get the 6 post chip from MT with PHP tunes on it I will probably go that route....If not I guess I will fork out the extra cash for the Hydra.
