Dp egts

What are egts running on a 80econ setting towing around 10k? I have a 2wheel 6sp all stock except intake, clutch and programmer, needing to take this truck on a trip pulling 10k and pyro gauge did not show up. Ok I got an infinity on 3 trucks, all setup different. 450 and 550's pulling heavy with no egt problems, just wanting to get an idea if this 80 setting is safe or if it was a drive by gauge tune. Thanks

If you lug it at all it will get hot. If you keep the RPM's up on the hills it's fine.

I wouldn't use it without a gauge though. I wouldn't use anything without a gauge

Still pretty slow, just less slow now.

Our 80 Econo is not designed to Tow 10K. If you are, you are using the wrong tune. You need the 60 Tow per our list of tune descriptions.

You should always tow by your gauges no matter what tow tune your are in. EGT issues can be from many sources. Check for boost leaks. Up pipe leaks are the biggest culprit to having higher then normal EGT's. What are you seeing as for EGT's at cruising and WOT? Anything below 1350* you will be fine according to International. WE err on the side of caution and say 1250* just in case your gauge is not accurate. You just don't want to be over that for a sustained period of time or you will melt something.
