JW Valve body with Canned TS Tunes

Been thinking about getting a John Woods valve body, but I don't know if it would work well with my chip. They are just the generic TS tunes that you get for cheap. It already shifts really hard and I don't want to install the VB and have it shift even harder, and damaging the trans.

So would it work without causing really harsh shifting, or should I wait until I get custom tunes and then get a VB?

Thanks!

Charlie

The VB is going to make the shifting more precise wether you have a chip or running completely stock. It should clean up hard shifts up and eliminate some flare. If it still shifts like poo once installed then send your chip off to a custom tuner and have it reburned. Powerstruck just reburned a spare chip I had for WELL under the cost of the valve body alone , to the tune of less than half , but that's between you and the tuner. I promise , the VB will not hurt anything and will make it better in just the quick precise shifts it offers alone.

Sold 01 350 6" on 37's and mild mods, 00 X 4" on 35's, 02 f350 4" 35's molded from fan to drive shaft, ridin the 03 with nose conversion with 125k and counting upwards slowly.
Never had CNC on any of it, never will.

Thank you, that's what I was worried about, I don't want to go spending all this money just to have the trans shift like doo doo.

It's well worth the money. Should be right there on the top of the mod list in my opinion. My first truck I installed one on was smooth , 1-2 felt like one gear. I ran the chip for about a week before installation and it did wonders but I had ordered chip stating I already had the VB. It will definitely improve shifts , you might need line pressure adjustments from there by a custom tuner to fully correct shifts but it is an excellent place to start and in itself alone will help prolong tranny life.
