10K vs 5.6K MOD

Well on a wild hair I took my 10K out and put a 5.6K in my truck. The diff was night and day. I didnt notice that big of a diff when I did the 10K but 5.6K is the way to go. My throttle is so snappy that its retarded and for the first time ever, my truck makes black smoke! Plus the kick in the pants from a dead stop is extreamly noticable.

I Highly recommend this mod to everyone.

Bonus, it didnt throw the low presure code on my truck!

As a warning, please make sure you have an EGT gauge if you are going to run anything lower then the 5.6K!

I liked the 10k but took it out before i instaled the TW. And was told the chip will do what the 10k does and so far it has. Some run the 10k and chip. I never got a chance to try other versions

so you replaced the 10k resistor with a 5.6k resistor? I thought the 5.6k mod had to do with the IDM?

No No, you just do it the same as the 10K and it makes a world of diff. Just make sure you wire it in to a switch cause the lope at idle can get annoing at long stop lights!

I had a 4.somethin in mine, but the more aggressive i got with the resistor, the worse is shifted, it would shift real sloppy and slow, slipped alot.

I like the 5.6 because the shift is firm but I cant have it on all the time or it will drive me nuts!

Watch this vidio. It will walk you through the procees. Works on all 7.3L Powerstrokes. Resisters are 99 cents for 5 at any radio shack. Do the exact same thing with a 5.6K resister to do the 5.6K mod. Goodluck!

Diesel Movies - I install a 10k resistor in the ICP sensor of a 2001 F250 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel.
