Idea for a new intake set up

I am thinking of fabricating a full 4 inch intake for our trucks with the trusty tig. It would be a 3 to 4 inch coupler off the turbo to a full 4 inch pipe to the mafs, then the filter on the mafs.

Everyone seems to just put a Napa filter on the stock intake pipe. It does the job, but there would deffinately be higher gains and killer sound with a full 4 inch mandrel bent intake tube. The oem rubber one has to start to collapse at temp and 30 psi...

Any idea's before I start?

go for a 6" filter. hy-35 whistles very nicely with a 6" inlet amsoil filter.
