1/4 mile drags, METH and TC LOCK SWITCH
I have been playing around taking off different ways with my truck to see which way is the fastest before I do some drags this weekend. I figured out that if I lock my TC at 30 mph it takes off really fast. Is this bad or can I lock it up at 25 mph ? I will be running 40% meth. I have it to start injecting at 10 psi of boost and then come on full at 18 psi of boost. Are those safe levels to be injecting 40% meth or can I lower it to come on all the way at 15 psi boost? All my mods are in my sig. If anyone has any pointers or thinks I should do something different just let me know. Im open to all suggestions. GARRETT

40% is the max I run... And I run my water at the same settings you are. Works great. Lock up your going to have to play with...

thanks CSIPSD. I just didnt wanna have it coming on to soon and cause something to go wrong with my engine. So I guess me locking up my TC earlier than it normally does isn't bad for it. I remember reading somewhere that way to early will hurt it. I might try locking it at 25mph or so. I guess my tranny can only blow up!! haha

When I was running a drop-in turbo (38R) I'd throw my lock-up switch right as it was shifting to 2nd. Then I had Jody build my race tune to do that automatically. So my t/c loced during the 1-2 shift. Worked great for me.
With the big turbo I'm running now, t/c lock has to be much later, as to not snuff out the charger. |

In the Buick Gn they were locked at the start when racing. But yes this is hard on the setup. I have too look and see what the diff was with it. I think was a few tenths in time. Just had to run a ground wire to it with a switch. Pretty much almost any car with a TC can be done. Works good as an engine brake too, BUT hard on things so keep that in mind.
