I have a 7.3 Ex w/4" turbo back strait piped, and its not to loud till you get in it hard or it seems really loud when you have a load on.
I love it, but I think i'm goin to put a muff back on so the neighbors will quit running when I turn the corner. Might put a cutout on it so I can have the best of both worlds.

i dont like straight pipes but that just me. i had my dodge straight piped with the 5" and it was way too loud and it sounded like a big rig so i put the muffler back on. i like being close to walls and other cars with my dodge it sounds sweet. my ford is a little quieter though.

It's legal here in Texas. I love the way mine sounds, but it's loud (from what other people tell me). I can't hear the difference in the cab. I have no idea if it helped my mpg's any.
