So basically your going to replace the 7.3L powerstroke with a 7.3L powerstroke.
The only thing your actually changing is the trans. |

looking at pcm, idm, and you need the tranny module for the allison otherwise you can fabricate anything else. just the electrical will be the hard part.

Which Alison tranny is it? Some of them don't even need electrics. I have one on an international wheel chair bus (2001) and it doesn't use any electrics. It's an AT500 (4 speed). Another thing to think about, now I may be the only one that has this problem, is that my bus is governed at like 65mph somehow by the PCM. If you have this problem, then use the Ford PCM and IDM from the truck you already have.
The other thing to think about is that the International version of the 7.3 (t444e) is built for medium duty trucks, which don't usually go as fast as light duty trucks (1 ton or less). They don't turn the same RPM's and they might be governed. They also don't produce the same horsepower. They do tend to produce more torque for their horsepower though. I don't know if there is a physical difference in the engines (say a different cam) or if it is all software. |

it is all the programming that makes them diff thats it.

Going from forged to PMRs?

basically its a engine and trans setup out of a light duty rollback wrecker, iam looking at the fact its a newer motor, less miles and its got a 17* hpop already and a allison ,figureing on that i could mod, swap out ,and upgrade and that with that setup i could possibly produce more power and torque than with the 1997 7.3L that has 230,000 miles and a E4OD behind it
