Used chip?

I'm thinking about buying a used TW chip. He said the chip is for a TDE1 PCM, so I need to find out what I have - where the hell do I look, and do you guys recomend a used chip, or should I just hold out & get a new one?

Pcm code is on the PCM you need to remove it to see it. And if youre code is different TW can burn to youre code I believe $150.00

Your truck is alot newer, your prolly have a vdh4 pcm code. Chip will need to be reburned for your truck.

And you don't need to remove the PCM, you can use a mirror on a stick and a flashlight on the engine side and you can read the code, but it can be a pain, but it can be done as I have done it several times.
