Im trying to install a bullydog 6pos chip in my truck but I cant get the front of the PCM off. I untighten the 10mm bolt on the front but it just wont come off. Anybody have any tips?
I had to loosen that 10 mm nut then pull that holding bracket up off the stud. If you feel the part of the pcm closest to the firewall on the driver side there is a ridge on the pcm that will grab that holder, and I had to help push that plastic in to slide it out.
Make sure you un bolt the pcm not the other two plugs next to it. The pcm is the closest to the fender. When i pulled my pcm I unpluged the wrong plug I did not see the PCM at first.
Sometimes it helps a lot to unbolt the metal bracket it sits in also. Wiggle them both a little and it should come right out.
This is especially on manuals.
