okay, i have i DIY for those who havent read my SIG. i dont particularly care for it. i dont like the way it fits, i dont like the fact that there is no heat shielding around it, i think it was letting more dust in than the K&N drop in filter that my dad ran for 150,000 plus miles without dusting the turbo, i will go on but i am going a different route. i hadnt looked much into the AIRAID or the AIS so thanks for the input with those. I decided to go ahead and go with the S&B and see how it works out. Thanks all for the helpful comments.

I have the AFE stage 2 and i love it. every now and then i blow it out with compressed air and vaccum it and keep on chuging, it does reduce smoke, but smoke is lost power so thats a good thing!

You cant go wrong with S&B. Their flow and filtration numbers are some of the best out there. If you want maximum flow and turbo whistle, AFE II is tough to beat.

AFE Pro5 flows 850 CFM.
AIS flows 640 CFM @15".
S&B flows 631 CFM.
AFE2 P7 flows 582 CFM.
DIY 6637 flows 425 CFM.

The top choices for a mild modded truck would be AIS, AFE P7, S&B, 6637.

631 is the engines rated flow. The S&B actually flows much more if you read the ISO 5011 test results. At 800 cfm it was showing 10" of restriction. At 946.2 cfm it was at 14.811". Compare that to the AIS.

Were the others tested on an ISO 5011 or where did you get those results?

AIS = Ford/Motorcraft/Donaldson Air Intake System. It is Ford's official upgrade for the stock intake system. It offers superior filtration (99.9%) efficiency.

I got the specs from several different places. I got the AIS spec directly from Donaldson. I do not know what testing procedure they used. I got the Donaldson/6637 filter spec from Donaldson website. The rest of the spec for the B085011 is:

4" 280 CFM
6" 400 CFM
8" 470 CFM

Thanks for sharing your info on S&B and the engine.
