Many have had the WW cure their surge issues, SINCE it is not a guarantee though, how else would they word it? The ATS is pretty much a guaranteed surge fix though. (I have both ) And it does sing for sure.
And the WW will NOT hurt the turbo in any way shape or form,,,,
Your friends are looney,,,, J/K,,, but they are WRONG.

i didn't have a problem with surging so that's probably why i didn't see a huge difference. it did make it spool up quicker, and seemed to give it a little mid like i said. it didn't take away from top end or boost i can hit 29lbs. so like everybody has said it won't hurt and will likely do good so its worth $100 IMO.

If you plan on ever buying a new turbo (BB) then just do the WW and put the extra money torwards a newer turbo down the road..

The truth about the wicked wheel , on my truck is.I have very little if any back pressure air rushing, surge, swishing air..whatever you want to call it.As Hank posted , for mine it seemed to have worked great in conjunction with some extras..power adders. It has a sweet whining sound like the 6.0 when you hit 12 lbs all the way to 30lbs.Everyone has different opinions about everything that has been done and that will be done.I would do it again,my vote.Hope this helps.

this got a bit off topic to answer your question, the WW will NOT hurt your turbo. Worth it or not? That is for you to decide. I did it on my EX a while back, it did wistle louder, and I did not have a surge problem to cure, so I cannot speak directly to that.

IMO if you do the labor yourself, it is a nice little upgrade for the $$$, but if you were going to take it to a shop, and pay their labor, I would say NO....
