Even though I'm going though more tests and checks. Here's what I'm seeing with mine, and what's not working or not yet hooked up. Diode missing (shop replaced harness and got lost). Odd thing is, no check engine light. Only have hesitation feel at higher speeds over 85. Will get new one installed this weekend. Boost gauge hose is bad or crimped somewhere. Going to replace that too. I'm running a Scan gauge II. If I got it set up correctly, the MAP is reading around 14 at idle, and gets up to 35 if I push hard up to 3K. I just found the scan gauge MAP option yesterday, and that 35 made me a bit worried (34.6 was the reading), so I'm keeping the RPMs under 2.7k max for now. I plan on getting studs, but not until I also can get stage1's. Maybe better rods too. Also to replace to Banks powerpack program with TW. But we know these options are costly, and not in the budget right now. Maybe after we finish with current 71 mustang project. This tread interested me being the numbers I'm reading. I want to be safe, and sound with my engine. I'll see what the manual boost gauge reads after getting the new lines in. I've also noted exhaust temps. Around 550 normal driving. Harder driving and playing can get it about 800 as it goes though shifting, and cools slightly once at cruising speed. The gear venders over/under drive helps ALLOT. |

That's good to know. Wasn't sure about the scan gauge MAP reading. As for the pyro, it's install in the upper turbine outlet pipe. Banks piping. *** I don't want to hijack the thread, I don't know whats bad or good here for exahust temps, so will start up a new one with new and more info. Thanks. *** Last edited by Brickhouse : 10-01-2008 at 11:35 AM. Reason: moving thread |

Yep, post turbo. I was told to install it in the exhaust manifold, this is where mine is. I could be way off here pls let me know. I get temps of mike 600 to 800 cruising at 60 - 70 mph. accelerating will shoot it up to 1000 in no time but cools right down when off the GO pedal. I have my ISSPRO set at a hair under 300* for the shut up temp. |
