Turbo and Exhaust Question

Hey guys i have a 99.5 250 7.3L. I would like to add a ATS turbo housing to eliminate surge and get that extra whistle. Im also planning on adding a 5" exhaust with muff. delete. My question is what extra things if any will i need to buy in order to make the exhaust match up to the turbo housing?

You shouldnt need any it should hook up to the exhaust just like the stock housing did and you might want to check out beansdieselperformance.com their housings are a lot cheaper

are they any different in performance or is it just the price? Is there any other place i can get a 5'' exhaust other than MBRP? im not really looking forward to spending 700 on an exhaust

ATS housing is on the compressor side, it comes with everything needed to install. It also has nothing to do with the exhaust side. Any 4" turbo back system will work fine.

Bean does not offer a ported compressor housing other then the ATS housing, now exhaust housings are a differant deal, he has everything you could think of on that end.

As for a cheaper exhaust PM the vendor Farmboysdiesel on here he can get you a budget exhaust for a lot cheaper

what are the mods done to your truck already???

reason i ask is because a 5 inch exhaust is huge exhaust, i read on this forum somewhere that a 4 inch exhaust would be good up to like 450 hp and from that on a 5 inch would be beneficial.

yeah a five inch isnt neccesary really the only real reason for it unless you have some real big power is for a deeper tone

yah i agree... 5" is way too much in a performance stand point... it will sound a lil deeper than the 4"

just get the housing any any 5" kit... MBRP makes a nice setup for 5" lits

There is no benifit of a 5" system at ANY power level... purely for looks and a bit differant sound.
