Smile Ts 6 Chip vs others

Hi all,

I got a good deal on a Ts 6 chip for $240. From a diesel shop in town...Chip is brand new...
I was going to go with a chip from beans but I don't have $425 to spend.....Any have the Ts 6 chip and how you like it???

I got a 2001 F-250 crew cab diesel...

Any help is appreciated...Thanks

The TS chip is the standard equitment most tuners use to tune the 7.3... You can get custom tunes on them as well which are more refinded then the box tunes that come with most.

I prefer the Hydra chip, more options, and every tuner can email you tunes to put on it.

Custom tunes are more or less relevant to how you use your truck, driving habits and if you ever upgrade your turbo, injectors, HPOP or Tranny you will have to get custom tunes to get the max performance out of those units.

Also, Custom tuners have the ability to adjust your shift points so if you dont like the shift points your TS chip has now you can not just call up the tuner and have it changed.

2000 F-250 XCLB 4x4 6 Speed, PIS 175/80's, ARP's, 910's, CNC Fuel Lines, 6637 Intake, GTP38R WW2, 4" turbo back, Hydra with Powerstruck and PHP tunes. International Up-pipes, ISSPRO Boost, EGT, HPOP and Fuel Pressure gauges. SB Clutch. MB Diesel HPOP.

Ill vouch for the hydra.... I am EXTRMELY impressed with mine. Finally had a day with dry roads so i got to try out the 140 tune... barely any smoke and definitely more power than my old tuner on a 140.

I have the TS chip with the generic tunes and I think it sucks, probably the worse $300 I have spent on this truck. I would save my money and go for a Hydra.....that's what I'm getting when I have the money.

This should help you decide, the last update I have seen from TS tuning is 2004.

How much do you think has changed in tuning since then???????????

Have you bought it yet???

If not save up the money and get the PHP Hydra, I simple LOVE mine. I can plug in my laptop and load any tune within my HEX code and if I want get anyone's else's tunes also.
