Used DP tuner F5....buy?

Real quick. Any common problems to things to look for before buying used? He said they don't vin lock.

Cost vs benifit...

Buying a DP chip is not really buying it. You dont own it, your only renting it from DP tuner.

You cant put anyone elses tunes on it, you cant easily transfer from one truck to another, and there not worth much once you have decided you dont want it anymore.

I strongly urge you to check out the PHP Hydra chip. Its 10 times the platform the DP chip is...

And unless you have the same PCM code as what the chip is already set up for, be prepared to spend another 200$ on top of buying the chip.

I'm currently trying to sell my DP chip... Not easy

are the hydras not PCM dependent? I was actually wondering that the other day, i was thinking PHP 6chip but have had time to pull my Xs PCM to figure out which to order.

All good tunes are Done by PCM code, but I am not sure what it would take to set the hydra up for a different code as mine isn't here yet

You can load what ever PCM code you want on the Hydra. You could have several PMT tunes, Several NVK tunes and even NMM tunes. It just doesnt matter.

Well then i am starting to regret not getting one from dieselsite when they had that killer deal on them last month more and more. What the hell would i do with 17 tunes lol

You dont need to have 17 tunes on it, it just gives you options. I have 8 on mine right now with tunes from 6 different vendors.

does it work like, PHP has a server we can pull from or how do they load? Im intrigued now, yesterday i was all set on a standard 6er but now im not so sure anymore.

PHP has a server for there tunes, you can pick and chose from any of there tunes for your truck.

Or you can have other vendors or "tuners" email you tunes which you can then load onto your Hydra chip.
