Diamond eye exhaust

I just installed a 4" diamond eye turbo back straight pipe on my 99, and for about 5 minutes of driving there is a sound coming from the engine. It sounds like a droned out vacuum. After five minutes the sound goes away.

Any ideas what this could be? I checked for leaks when in ideal and can't find any...

This is a shot in the dark, but is your EBPV acting up? broken tube or anything like that? because it may have been something that you never noticed before because of the stock exhaust. is there any loss of power associated with it?

If you ever think something I post is ridiculous or uneducated, just remember that I probably learned it from here.

Most likely the EBPV. You could watch the actuator until the sound goes away to confirm.

i second the ebpv.

how cold is it where you live?

the jet sound is just the ebpv closing creating load to help warm up the engine.

If you hear it, go in and pull the plug while its running to see if it goes away. Just be careful not to snag your hand on the belt. I had the issue (I broke the ebp tube off of the sensor a while back and crimped the end shut) and when I pulled the plug, the problem stopped. It'll throw a code but it won't set off the CEL.

dfuser makes a plug that will eliminate it and make the computer not throw a code.

The jet sound is while it's idling warming up, which I understand is normal, the sound it makes is when I'm actually driving it.
