It brings your truck up to idle at 1200 rpms or so. That way if it is cold or something it will warm up faster and prevent wet stacking if your truck is idled alot.

DP. I think DP costs a little more, but the tuning from what I hear seems to be a lot more custom. You just tell them exactly what you want and you get it, plus there are a lot more tunes available to choose from.

Well I don't have that truck anymore but if I had it to do over again I probably would have spent the money on the DP.....

What do you mean what tuner? Don't you want the multi-position?

Lightbulb your options......

ok, DP vs TS.....
I chose to go with a TS for a few reasons. At the time, I got in on a deal on this site, NDURBIN is a vendor on this site and offered 10 TS flip chips for just over 200 bucks for each one. I decided it was too good of a deal to pass on. I did not feel like spending 600 bucks for the bad beepbeepbeep tuner from DP at the time so the TS got the job. The power is unbelievable for just a basic "off the shelf" chip and you can find one for around 250-300 dollars if you call the right vendors. Don't just look at websites because they are not allowed to advertise their prices below a certain amount or they won't be allowed to sell that certain Name Brand product anymore if they get caught. So call up a few vendors and shop around for the best price.

Now, my opinions on both....

DP tuner, aka Jody Tipton, specializes in 7.3 litre performance and he knows his stuff . I have never talked to him personally but from what I hear you can call him and tell him exactly what you are looking to do with your truck, and he will burn you a chip with his special custom programs. Like the TS, it is also adjustable on the fly and is in my opinion, the only way to go. You may pay more for his tunes but I have been told that you always get what you pay for.

TS performance....
Located out of Bowling Green, Kentucky, a place known for high performance diesel tractor pulling, also spends gobs of money to create safe programming to improve the performance on your truck. Just keep in mind that it is a much larger company than DP and does not specialize on 7.3 powerstrokes specifically. If you order a six position chip from their website, you will pay over 400 dollars. But like I said before, call around and you can find one much closer to two and a half.

The final decision is yours.... I have been in both TS and DP trucks and the result is similar, bad beepbeepbeep power gains . If you want the very best for your truck and are willing to pay for it, call Jody.... If you are looking for cheap, safe, reliable power, call a few vendors on this site and ask about the TS flip chip. I recommend talking to Nathan Durbin before making any final decision because he made me a heck of a deal......
