Cheap modules

I just bought one of these on ebay (cheapdieselchips.com) you will have to copy and paste I don't know how to link it. From the research I have done this is comparable to a edge ez or similar modules from the big companies. I have only had it on for a couple of hours but throttle response has definetly increased, and it smokes when getting on it. If you are budget minded like me and don't care about shredding the rollers on the dyno you should check it out. I can't verify all of their claims yet but will post more on it when available.

Here is a pic of the module. Not the best looking thing but for the money I can overlook that.

From what I have read about resistor mods the idle quality can suffer. Also you only have one setting. This is adjustable and I can turn it off, it doesn't effect idle quality. It does intercept and modify the outgoing ICP signal. So yes I could have went to radio shack and saved a couple bucks but I wanted adjustabilty and the option to turn it off.

They state 65hp and 120 ft lbs. I haven't beat on it a whole lot yet, but merging into traffic is alot eaiser. My truck is a early 99 with the stock pcm. I thought about upgrading it but this seemed like a more cost effective solution for now.

I was alittle leary about buying it, but their sales pitch was pretty good. As far as r and d it looks alittle more complicated than a pot and some resistors soldered together. I'll cross my fingers for the longevity factor (273,xxx). It still has the orginal trans in it.

18k mod... easy cheap and somewhat effective. Get some gauges, Pyro and tranny temp min... the 18k will cause VERY high EGT's
