if you clean it too much youll have to take it to an electronic place that works on PC boards and have them retint the connections....

the theft light is normal on the excursions

the turning off thing is super weird...did you tape the chip in?

I agree on taping the chip, or do something like I did,

Rivet the small hasp right there,

Take some small rubber pieces like this, (Maybe from a hardware or a hobby/craft store?)
Then use zip tie to secure it snuggly. See how the bumpers push against the chip? It is NOT GOING anywhere now.

Before I did this I had my chip taped in, but it's hard to tape it IN the black case with the hole like it is, I actually had my chip come loose and fall out WHILE DRIVING! The truck stumbled badly, then kept driving, I was towing three cars on my wedge, and noticed immediately that there was a lack of power, no smoke, ect...
Pulled over and looked down under the dash, saw my chip hanging by the wire, MAN, HOW it didn't trash my PCM I do NOT KNOW. But I sat there Thanking GOD it didn't when I saw it. Cause I would have been stranded with a load of autos on my trailer!

Yeah, Mines tight. The PCM has plastic bracket that holds it in place. you would have to physically try to get it out.
