I got some money to spend on a chip, i was going to buy a edge evo. Untill i read this thread... I got a couple of questions about it now....
Does it install right under the dash like the programers?
What gauges are needed? (i got a 6 speed) and if i don't run gauges will it mess it up?
How much smoke do they blow on the smoke setting? i am looking in to stacks and i want a show if i buy them...

Thanks

nope it does not plug into your OBD port... you actually have to remove your PCM and put it in their....

you only need a boost and pyro gauge

and the smoke setting smokes pretty good... but it depends if you have an OBS or SD..

PM me if you have any questions or want a package deal with the gauges and the TW chip

It does not plug into the OBDII port like a programmer it goes directly into the pcm, if you need a full write up for the install of the chip send me your email address and ill send the write up to you. The guages you should get are a pyrometer and boost guage and not having guages with the chip wont mess anything up but you need them to monitor everything with all the performance that will be added with the chip. If you talk to Raul@stealthautomotive he can hook you up with the chip and gauge combo. Definitely do a TW over an evo

Heres a video of my truck on the smoke setting but yours will blow more smoke since you have larger injectors, etc.

you must install the tw chip into the pcm
you will need boost gauge, motor temp gauge and i don't believe you will need a trany temp because you have a manual, you can run it without gauges but you have to be easy on it, don't know much about the smoke setting yet, my tw isn't installed yet

you will need to pull your pcm, and plug it in and mount it, (the stage knob) that shouldnt take maby 20 min to have it in
you should just need boost and pyro gauges and the gauges dont efect the chip but it lets you know when you are getting your engine way to hothttp://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=39525 574
and for stacks, pm me!
