Smile IPR control

I just finished the second stage of my IPR override control. No matter what you do or program into the PCM, it will only prodce 9V to the IPR at 3000rpm. With this,the IPR is still allowing oil back to the pan unles you have enough pump to out run the leak. This 2 stage system is MAP operated and at 10psi puts the 9V to the IPR at 1800 to 2300rpm depending on the tune. This will make the drive psi about 2600psi. Without sage 2, this will rise on mine to 2900psi at 3000rpm. Now stage 2 is set to go at 18psi boost and sends 12V to the IPR. The PSI of the drive goes to 3400 and up to 3600psi at 3200rpm. The injector is designed to run at 3500psi all day so for short burst does no harm. Thebench test sowed the IPR reached 180 degrees in 30min at 12V. With a modifided fuel system and tunes to match the mod we found 90rwhp. This very impressive in even a stock tune.

Yea, I gotta say, your whole voltage equations for the IPR are pretty uninformed. You need to Read-Up on how this stuff works...

Hey this is real easy guys, I like feed back. You can think all you want and argue wht a book says but like the other post says, hook a wire from your battery thru a switch and find out for yourself if you dare. I use the switchs and voltage control because this is a daily driver and utility rig. I'm not after the "BIG" number, just everyday performance. The challange is on, if you don't try it, you'll never know. I only shared because I did it and it dynoed out with mass improvment.

You should try a 10k mod with this too...LOL

No, do a 18k mod...

If you knew anything about the injection process you would understand all you are doing is floating poppets.

IPR control

The ICP mods only tell the PCM, we need more pressure. The PCM can only put out the 9V it has. This is not ajustable. You have to have a bigger HPOP because you are trying to over come volume leak from the IPR. By rasing the voltage you close off the leak. This will make a smaller pump work much better. The biggest pumps out there can't reach the pressure the injector likes. To smooth this process out, the fuel pressure needs to be raised also. If you ever went out to a shop that can help test this you will never know what it does. Your theory's and books on 7.3 injectors doesn't include how they were designed to work. You can get the mauals from your local CAT. dealer. The injection HEUI system is simple. The ajustable system ever made. I'm taking advantage of it. I wish one of you had figured this out so you could be in front of the firing squad.
