Exhaust Install = Disappointment

Well I got my new 5" exhaust thursday. Put it into the garage till this morning. Loaded it up and headed to my dad's to install it. Get there and crack the box open and the ends of the pipes are damaged. So I pull it out of the box. It looks like its all there. So me and my dad go to work on fixing the ends. Get them mostly back to round. So we start to trial fit it on the driveway. Down pipe is perfet, slips into the first extension good. First extension to the second extension need a little more tweaking, but finally slipped in. Now the problem. The end of the second extension or the end of the pipe that goes over the axle neither is flared. So theres no way they will slip together. I don't if theres suppose to be a adapter to connect them or is the pipe that goes over the axle suppose to be flared? So I put both pipes in the truck and head out to find a shop the can make an an adapter or flare one side. Turns out no one around can do a pipe that big. I guess it will have to wait untill next weekend when I have my next day off. Hopefully the company that sold me the exhaust will call me back in a timely manner with a solution in time for next weekend.

End of the day wasted tally:

2 1/2 hours of driving
77 miles
$30 in fuel
My day off
My dads vacation day

Just install it except for that part. Go to a truck shop and get a reducer or a coupler and continue the install.

No trucks stops around here that I know of. I wish I could of found some who could make something that would work around here. I'm home now. It will have to wait untill next weekend. No tools here at home, just at my dads house. I would have to drive around all week with it blowing soot all under the truck.

Turn down the chip and don't blow soot. Or blow soot and who cares LOL.

Seriously though... there HAS to be a big rig shop around somewhere. If nothing else you can use band clamps to hold it on.
