Need some turbo advice/guidance

The turbo went out on my 2000 7.3 with 194k

I dont really need more than a stock turbo, but i do like the fact that the 38r is a ball bearing turbo.

So after a little reading and searching

If i get the 38r

theres a pedestal that deletes ebv
then you would need the turbo outlet that deletes the ebv

So what is the ebv? and is there anything else you have to do to complete the deleting of the ebv or are these all the parts?

And while all the turbo is out
is there anything i should be replacing that commonly fails or wears out?

Thanks in advance !

With regards to the EBV...
The Exhaust Back Pressure Valve just aids the engine to warm up faster in colder weather. All it is is a valve that closes to create back pressure hence the name. There's really no gain with it. I haven't noticed it warm mine up any faster and it's just annoying to hear the hiss driving around. Pulled up a few links for you in case they might help Also it does leak oil and I think mine might be now that I think about it....

Oh and check your compressor wheel to make sure no fins are cracked, chipped or dusted. Might as well check your inter cooler boots too for oil leak

you can delete the stock pedestal and outlet and re use them.

or you can buy a New outlet and pedestal for around 180-200 bucks.

riffraff sells them
