DP Tuner exhaust brake tune

Is anyone running it? I know it closes the EBPV but does it do anything with the converter?

Jody has my converter locked down to 1200rpm. It will even down shift from OD to D and stay locked. John Wood told me the only difference between my tune and the deceleration tune is when you let completely let off the throttle, the EBPV comes on(in about 3 seconds).

Moral of the story, is the TC is commanded to lockup and hold it locked to a set RPM.

The de cel tune is great. In most of my programs, the torque converter will stay locked and provide some slowing, then on top of that you have additional braking from the closed EBPV. Definately worth getting. I put the decel tune in between my 40and 80 tow programs.

My EBPV stays closed even when I step on the throttle. Sound cool and puts more smoke out than a Frieght Train, but can't be good for the egt's

This sounds like an option instead of installing an exhaust brake on my truck and camper weighing 12,000 pounds. I was considering an exhaust brake as a necessity before getting tunes/guages, but this sounds like a great benefit of getting a few tunes, and a savings of $$$ over an exhaust brake.
by the way for anyone stumbling across this thread, there's another one from an earlier date with more discussion on this.
DP tuner decel tune?
